Syracuse Men’s Basketball Fans are Optimistic for Potential New Recruits Syracuse Men's Basketball Fans are Optimistic for the 2025 Season

The Orange Faithful Have Hope for the 2025 Season

Syracuse, N.Y. (NCC News) – It’s going to be another long offseason in the 3-1-5. After a promising season under first-year head coach Adrian Autry, Syracuse men’s basketball was unable to make the NCAA March Madness tournament. This is now the fifth year in a row the team has missed the big dance.

With the conclusion of the regular season, the NCAA transfer portal officially opened, and several names from Syracuse have already entered into it. Players such as Benny Williams, Justin Taylor, and Quadir Copeland are searching for new teams to join next season.

Despite these big names being on the move, some Syracuse fans aren’t concerned. Instead, they’re eager to see how the team will be handled next year. Syracuse University sophomore Caleb Nice has confidence in Syracuse’s coaches to get the job done.

“Honestly, I think they got a lot better this year, I like Autry, so honestly just running it back, the new schemes to put in the end, stuff like that,” Nice said.

Not only is there a lot of excitement with the coaches, but fans are also eager to see who else Syracuse will bring in from the portal to improve their roster. Syracuse University senior Bretton Kohler believes the men’s basketball team is trending in the right direction.

“I’m definitely looking forward to the future, I know there’s a long hill to climb,” Kohler said. “I think they’re getting there in terms of recruiting and getting the right coaching staff in place.”

If Syracuse plays their cards right, they could easily get back into the March Madness tournament next season. Based off of the trust of some of their fans, Syracuse has big expectations to go out and add some major talent to the team.
